Company History

pegRAIL™ launched as a new company, in 2007. In the age of “spin offs” and belief in the “next generation”, we decided to offer the consumer our next big innovation.

For the last 30 years, designINDUSTRIES has been designing, engineering, and manufacturing merchandise presentation fixtures for the nation’s leading retailers and fashion brands. This strong retail expertise supported our vision for the pegRAIL™ system. We believe that today’s fashion consumers are exposed to high design and durable function as they shop the world’s leading designers and retail boutiques. Bringing the latest designs home and simply hanging it on a typical wooden dowel or plastic coated wire in the closet just seems to diminish the whole experience!

In 2003, designINDUSTRIES introduced dipeg™ puck system to retail store designers attending GlobalShop in Chicago. It was a big hit, and is now used throughout the country in numerous specialty & department stores. It just seemed to be a natural solution for storage and organization in the home, too. We now consider dipeg™ to be the “grandfather” of pegRAIL™.

As the story goes… our company president, Kirk Botkin would pull into his garage every evening after work and “stumble” across the cluttered trail of stuff left by four very busy & active kids.

“How wonderful it would be to have all of that stuff hung up and organized right here at the back door to our home. All this coming & going & equipment & uniforms & bags & packs & … stuff just drives us crazy! If we only had some kind of rail or bar with hooks and shelves and whatever to get it off the floor and somewhat organized. The systems we build for retailers are very versatile & flexible, but too large & heavy for the home. If we scaled it down a little, it could still be changed to hold everything from activity to activity, season to season and even year to year!”

We think Kirk had the right idea, and after 4 kids, the Botkins knew a little bit about giving birth. . . and so . . . pegRAIL™ was born.

pegRAIL™ exhibits “to the trade” at a variety of national and international trade shows each year. These exciting events offer a great venue for introducing our newest design concepts and product solutions. Our dealers and designers are offered our latest creative inspirations and many networking opportunities.
